2022 was an outstanding year for Cashiers Cares in its goal of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors”. This was the 14th year of supporting non-profits that serve Southern Jackson County. Cashiers Cares has distributed over $600,00 since its inception in 2008. The mission of Cashiers Cares is to promote and support 10 local charities that provide crucial services needed by the underserved of our community.
The event was held at Lewis Hall in Village Green. Representatives from each organization attended and spoke about the needs and how funds would be used locally. All charities are 501©3 and donations are tax-deductible.
The charities aid the youngest to those at end of life. Cashiers Cares is the equivalent of a local United Way in its coverage of all ages and needs---and is an all volunteer organization.
Charities supported are: AWAKE, Boys and Girls club, Cashiers Preschool, Community Care Clinic of Highlands-Cashiers, Fishes and Loaves Pantry, Four Seasons Hospice, Hampton Preschool, Pisgah Legal, SAFE, and United Christian Ministries. Information about these can be found online at cashierscares.org.
This year will be our second annual Golf Tournament held at Trillium Club and open to players of all skill levels. The date is Monday September 18 and info can be found on our website or Trillium Golf Office.
Plan to support this local cause by joining us for a fun day of fundraising. Underwriting is also available at different levels. Contact Pam Kerr for further info about Cashiers Cares.
